Dr. Tiffany Shi

Dr. Tiffany Shi holds her DMA (Doctor of Musical of Arts) degree in piano performance from Louisiana State University. She has over 20 years of teaching experience and actively performs at music events in San Francisco Bay Area and Asia. Dr. Shi is an active member of MTAC and National Guild since 2016.
In every piano lesson, Dr. Shi focuses on music excellence, including training in correct hand position and healthy practice habits. She utilizes an individual approach and develops a curriculum specifically tailored for each student. This allow her students to learn to play music with an imaginative approach while following the markings and intention from the composer.
Dr. Shi’s lessons are exciting and enjoyable which lead to the exceptional results her many students have achieved. Her students consistently receive state honors and convention invitations on the CM Exams and win top awards in festivals and competitions.
Bio
Dr. Tiffany Shi is an American pianist, born and raised in China. She started her piano lesson at the age of five. She enrolled into professional music school and music conservatory in Guangzhou which she spent next seven years concentrating on piano. In 2010, she got the full scholarship and went to the music program in UW and studied with Dr. Teresa Bogard. Soon after she got accepted into LSU and studied with Michael Gurt. She’s earned DMA (Doctor of Musical Arts) degree in piano in 2016. Searching for opportunities to grow as an artist, she also joined UW orchestra and LSU orchestra, choirs, and church as piano accompanist.
Subsequently, Dr. Shi and her family moved to the San Francisco Bay Area and started the next chapter of their lives. Dr. Shi continued performing piano as soloist and accompanist all over the Bay Area. Since 2016, she has been touring the Bay Area and working with Aurora Singers and French choirs. She also became an active member of MTAC (Music Teacher Association of California) and Piano National Guild.
